Choisya ternata

choisya ternata

If you are searching for a neat evergreen shrub, with aromatic foliage, scented flowers, tolerating a wide range of soils, choose Choisya ternata, (pronounced choy-zee-a ter-nah-ta).

More widely known by its common name - Mexican orange blossom, it is a fast growing, well-behaved shrub perfect for a mixed border reaching around 2m (6ft) high and wide. It responds well to pruning and is easily shaped to stay in a small space.

The glossy green leaves are the perfect backdrop to its greatest asset, the deliciously fragrant pure white blossom.

The flowers appear in spring but also intermittingly throughout the year. Available at garden centres priced about £12.

Try this lovely evergreen,

Linette Applegate.
