The Soil Type Icons...Your soil type can affect the success of your plants, so Homebase plants are suitable for one of 2 types. Find out which type you have by taking a piece of soil the size of a golf ball (removing any stones) and roll into a 'worm' shape...
1. Well drained Well drained soil types will not form this worm shape, they simply fall apart in your hand, and could be described as sandy in appearance.
| |
2. Moist, but well drained Moist, but well drained soil types will form this shape, but will be crushed easily in the palm of your hand, with a loam appearance.
| |
The Sunlight Icons...Your sunlight conditions can also affect the success of your new plants, so all planting available in Homebase is suitable for one of 4 sunlight conditions. To select plants for the correct sunlight conditions in your border...
